The Coach! - Andy was born and raised in Crewe and spent the first 2 years of employment with Fodens the truck makers in Sandbach. After being made redundant by the firm in 1980, through his father’s encouragement he joined the RAF in 1981 as a Marine Technician. Having completed a first tour at RAF Mountbatten, Plymouth, Andy was posted to Gibraltar, it was during this tour that the RAF decided to give their WWII boats back to the Royal Navy. He re-mustered as a PTI 1n 1985 and became a Parachute Jumping Instructor in 1989, were he has remained ever since. Andy is married to the lovely Mandy and they have two beautiful girls, Witney and Elle, along with a dog called Diesel, 6 guinea pigs and a goldfish named God.A group of 10 RAF and Army Personnel based at RAF Brize Norton are attempting to cycle from John O’Groats to Lands End in a continuous relay in under 99 hours. We also aim to ascend and descend the three highest Peaks in the United Kingdom. One of our team members will be riding solo, direct from John O’Groats to Lands End trying to beat the rest of the team to the finish.
