Flies!

In one week's time we shall be at Lossiemouth getting our last decent night's sleep before starting the Challenge - I'm both nervous and excited at the same time!  This is the last weekend of serious training before we start to ease off over the week ahead in preparation for the start.  I was out twice today, once I'd finally got my back wheel sorted out.  The weather was lovely on the first ride, and what a difference it makes to your outlook - the cycling was pleasurable again.  The last few days, because of a combination of things (falls, rain, wind, bike damage, etc) it's been really frustrating but I've really enjoyed today.  The only problem with nice warm days, especially on the small country lanes, is flies!  I must have swallowed about 6 of the damn things - and they don't taste that pleasant!  But the weather is very odd at the moment - even when the sun's out, the air temperature is cold, so in the shade it is actually quite cool.  On the second ride this evening, it was overcast and positively cold.  And it's the middle of June!  Crazy.
3 sessions planned tomorrow.  Need to get to bed!  Good night.
