3 Peaks Conquered!

We reached Snowdon at 0300 and began climbing at 0420.  Snowdon was conquered and we were back at "Base Camp" by 0830.  After a "Full Welsh" breakfast in the cafe we set off agin on the bikes at 0945.  We are currently just north of Builth Wells (10 miles north of the Black Mountains) and expect to hit Bristol at between 2000 & 2100 this evening.  Fatigue is setting in but spirits are still high - especially now that the mountains are out of the way.  We were discussing our progress and also talking about the 3 Peaks Challenge (where people attempt to climb all 3 Peaks in 24 hours) and we realised that we have not only climbed the 3 Peaks but cycled between them in just over double the time allowed (52 hours), and 3 Peak Challengers drive between the Peaks - so that's not a bad effort (although I say so myself!)

Rob seems to have hit "the Wall" and is making fairly slow progress at the moment.  He is past Hereford now and I'm sure the thought of being beaten by "Crabs" will spur him on ond give him the incentive he needs to push through to the end.  He's doing amazingly well and I'm sure every one will be wiliing him on.

Our home for the journey - the minibus - is full of kit airing and/or drying and it has now developed an aroma of its own which none of the occupants really notice but anyone else would probably find pretty unpleasant to say the least!

Our 2 support teams have been doing an absolutely stirling job keeping us fed and watered, supplying hot (well, warm) food and drinks to the riders and generally keeping us on track.  We really couldn't do this without them and we are all extremely grateful to them giving up their time to help us.  Thank you lads.

We have had an amazing number of messages of support both here and on our Facebook page - thank to all of you who are following our progress and wishing us well.
